today, i met you as a child your laughter as beautiful as a bird flying in the darkness of space, illuminating the emptiness of space i passed you that day on the swing i saw you launch into the sky, for i tried to follow, but i had no wings i came day after day trying to catch you as you began your daily flight i swung as hard as i could, but i was always short of your hand the swing stopped, but my eyes flooded someone offered me a cloth to wipe away my tears with i looked up to realize that it was you wiping my tears you grabbed my hand and free
